The Magic Coat Program is a social emotional well being program that uses the analogy of a bright yellow coat. Children use their imagination to put the coat on and inside the coat are a number of different pockets with characters in each. Each character represents a positive psychology tool that children can use whenever they face a problem.
Make A Difference WA ensures that this program is made available not only to the schools who are part of the breakfast program but also womens refuges and the womens prisons.
This connection to the womens refuge and prisons is through Zonta House, Positive Pathways Program who Make A Difference WA work closely with.
Make A Difference WA also provide training of The Magic Coat Program to the WA police, social workers, teachers and psychologists who work closely with traumatised children so that they have a common language and strategies to work with these children.
