Kristy, aged 32, lives with Down Syndrome and has an intellectual disability with very little communication skills. Last year, her mother received devastating news that Kristy was going blind from an eye condition called Keratoconus – and if not operated on, Kristy would go blind. Unfortunately this operation was not on the list for medical cover. The foundation gave their support of the operation and all Kristy’s medical costs. Kristy has made a full recovery and enjoying her life to the full once again.

Aboriginal Painter Rod Garlett very kindly donated the above painting to assist the foundation with Kristy’s operation costs.   Our thanks to Rod Garlett.
